Primary ticket types can be used in conjunction with secondary ticket types to allow registrants to bring guests when ordering a specific registration/ticket type. For instance, you could allow registrants who sign up as VIPs (primary ticket type) to bring a guest (secondary ticket type).
To get started, create your primary ticket type.
Next, create your secondary ticket type.
Under the Advanced Options, click 'Allow to add to cart with primary tickets only'. This will ensure that the secondary ticket type is only available when a primary ticket type has been selected.
To take it a step further, to associate the secondary ticket type with specific primary ticket types, click 'Limit quantity to primary tickets' and select from the list of available primary ticket types (e.g. VIP).
When finished, click 'Save'.
Viewing Primary and Secondary Ticket Types on the Order Flow
As registrants sign up for your event, if they select the VIP ticket type, then they will be prompted with the ability to add a guest.
As they continue through the order flow, they will be asked to fill out the primary individual's information (VIP).
Once they've finished with the primary individual's information they will be asked to fill out the secondary individual's information (Guest).
At the end of the order, they will see the information for both individuals before finalizing the registration.
