When contacts already exist in the Registration platform, it's useful to have information entered on the registration form match the contact form.
For instance, you may ask registrants if they want to opt-in to receive monthly newsletters.
If you've set up linking between the contact form and the registration form, the registrant's response is not only stored on their order but on the registrant's contact information on the backend as well.
Linking a Contact Form Field with a Registration Form Field
To set up linking between the contact form and the registration form:
- Create a field on the Contacts Form, as a checkbox, asking "Do you want to receive our monthly newsletter?"
- Next, go into one of your events. Then go to Edit Event > Registration/Order/RSVP Forms.
- Add a field to your form.
- Click on 'Use existing contact field' and select the "Do you want to receive our monthly newsletter?" option.
- Click 'Save'.
Viewing the New Field on the Order Flow
As individuals register for your event, they will be prompted with the new checkbox field:
Viewing the Contacts Report
When viewing the Contacts Report from the Reporting Main Menu, you can see the response of registrants to the opt-in question and export the CSV file.
As the registrant's response changes, the field will update on the Contacts Report.
