The DoubleDutch team is saddened to announce the following feature deprecation:
LinkedIn recently announced changes to their API that affect how all 3rd party applications, including the DoubleDutch mobile app, are able to connect and share data with LinkedIn accounts.
DoubleDutch is currently using the API to allow 3 different connections to LinkedIn:
- When a user sets up his/her profile, the ability to import information from his/her LinkedIn profile
- The ability for a user to display a button on his/her profile that connects to his/her LinkedIn profile
- The ability to share a status update a user is posting to the activity feed to his/her LinkedIn profile
The API changes take effect on April 15th and at that time, the above referenced connections in the app will no longer work. While our team is working on ways to best incorporate the changes associated with the new APIs, to ensure attendees don’t experience broken functionality within the app after the changes take place we will be automatically disabling the settings in the CMS related to the LinkedIn functionality in all upcoming events.
To do this, we will switch the settings for “Enable Social” and “Enable LinkedIn Profile Import” to “No” and remove the settings from view in the CMS.
