The Time Zone listed in the Content Management System under the Setup tab in the Basics section correlates to the Time Zone of your event. There are a number of timed-released features in the app, so it is important to double check that the Time Zone set in your CMS instance is the correct Time Zone.
The following features rely on the Time Zone set in the Content Management System:
- Agenda "Now" Feature
- Upcoming Session Notifications
- Surveys attached to sessions
- Promoted Posts
- Push Notifications
- Activity Feed Cards
- Location-based messages
This is also why we would advise against combining events that tour multiple cities in the same event. In these circumstances, we encourage separating your app into multiple events - one event per each city in a different time zone. Please speak with your Account Manager if your event falls within this category.
Note: if an attendee exports their bookmarked sessions from the app to their device calendar, it will export in their current Time Zone, not the Time Zone of the event. Because of this, we would suggest advising attendees to wait to export their bookmarked sessions until they arrive onsite for their event.
