While working in the CMS you may encounter an error message while trying to import bulk template, alter the layout of your app, or upload files. The table below includes the most common error messages you may come across, the reason the error occurred, and how to correct it.

Keep in mind that we recommend using Google Chrome as your browser, and its always a good practice to periodically clear the cache in your browser (preferences -> history -> clear browsing data).

|CMS - Import||Error: Duplicate Identifier||Each attendee must have a unique email address, and each unique session id in a personal agenda, attendee group, filter or session track must only be listed once for each attendee. Check the data in your template for duplicate email addresses or IDs.|
|CMS - Import||Sequence contains no matching element||The headers on the import template do not match the original template. Check for alterations against the download template from the CMS.|
|CMS - Import||Error Generating Preview: Authorization has been denied for this report.||The import template that you are using has merged columns. Note that sometimes using Excel can sometimes add unwanted/unexpected formatting changes to the template. Ensure the columns on your template match the import template exactly.|
|CMS - Import||Error Generating Preview: The headers do not match the original import template.||The headers and columns on the import template must match the original template. Check the headers on your template to make sure no alterations have been made and that they match the current version of the import template in the CMS.|
|CMS - Import||Sorry there was an error refreshing the import status of your import. Please try again later.||Refresh the page and try the import again.|
|CMS - Import||The unique identifier already exists for an item in your application. Please choose a different unique identifier.||Each list item in the app must have its own unique ID. Your import template contains an ID for item that is already being used by another list. Update the ID on the template and the import will process.|
|CMS - Content||Please limit this field to 15,000 characters||The description must be less than 15,000 characters. If you have less than but close to 15,000 characters please remove special formatting such as bold, italics, and line breaks.|
|CMS - Files & External Links||Authorization has been denied for this request.||If you are adding an external link that contains a # in the URL, use bit.ly to shorten the link and remove the #.|
|CMS - Files & External Links (and agenda session attachments)||Forbidden File Type||Attached files need to be .pdf, .png, or .jpg. If you have another file type that needs to be shared with attendees in the app (such as .ppt), we recommend using a hosted link.|
|CMS - Promoted Messages||Error uploading image: forbidden file type||Image attached to a promoted post must be in .png format only. Update the image you are trying to attach.|
|CMS - Layout||Too few sections: You cannot publish with fewer than 4 sections.||There must be at least 4 sections unhidden in the CMS at all times.|
|CMS - Layout||Error: There are multiple items named '____'. Each item must have a unique name.||Each menu section in your app must have a unique name. Update the name of your duplicate section and you will be able to publish.|
