The DoubleDutch app opens all web links inside of the app, in what is called a Web View. In some cases, event organizers may want to link outside of the app to an external browser. This would open the web link in an external browser such as Chrome for Android and Safari for iOS. In order to achieve this, the query parameter (/?ref=app&ddusebrowser=true) must be added to the end of the URL.
Standard Web Link
Web Link to open in external browser with (/?ref=app&ddusebrowser=true)
In some cases, you may find a link that is incompatible with the "/?ref=app&ddusebrowser=true" parameter. An example of this would be a link ending in .JSP, which is a JavaServer Page.
For these kinds of links, you're able to create a new short link using the bit.ly service. You can then attach the "/?ref=app&ddusebrowser=true" parameter to the end of this new short link which will then open it in the devices external web browser.
